Be A Seed

Tonight we continue the series “History Makers Mindset” with the topic “Be A Seed”. Last week our topic was mature sons and daughters in the Kingdom. This week, we talk about our responsibilities in the Kingdom.

In Matthew 13:36-38 Jesus explains an earlier parable to his disciples. It says “Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.” He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one”

In this parable, we (the people of the Kingdom) are the good seed and the world is the field. Jesus (the Son of Man) is the one who sows us into the field.

In Matthew 9:38, Jesus says “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” God is looking for mature sons and daughters to go beyond the church into the world and bring in the harvest. Just as a farmers field that is ready to harvest will not bring itself into the barn, the world will not bring itself into the church.

The role of the church is to produce mature sons and daughters and send them into the harvest.

Where are you? If you are a young Christian, continue to mature in your walk with God. If you are a mature Christian, what is your calling? What field has the Lord placed you in? That is where you are to reach the harvest.
